That’s right folks! Vulture’s Knob of Wooster, OH is giving the somewhat deprived gravity riders of the Midwest a new place to hone and show off their skills. Currently in the works is a competition level slopestyle course, super d/ freeride trail, dual slalom, and improved XC. “The Knob” has jumped in head first by recruiting pro builder and rider Joe Prisel. Some of you may be familiar with the rhythm room at Ray’s… a testament to Joe’s ability to create the sickest terrain out there.
Not a pro slopestyle rider yet? Don’t worry, there will be terrain features for all abilities. The dual slalom course will have a heavy emphasis on berms, so those of you who like to keep it on the ground will have plenty of opportunity to rail berms and make the tires go BRAAAAAP!
A combination of soaking rains followed by bluebird breezy days this Fall has allowed for some perfect trail building. Prime conditions, a talented trail crew, and a little help from “Bobcat Rick” have things shaping up well ahead of schedule.
For those of you looking to collect hardware this Summer Vulture’s Knob will be the place. Details are still being finalized, but expect events featuring; slopestyle, dual slalom, super-d, and of course the infamous Vulture’s Knob XC races!
If you find yourself needing a mid-winter outdoor riding fix Vulture’s Knob is open 365 days a year. Just remember to keep a good thing going… sign a waiver in the pavilion, drop a donation in the lock box, and always wear a helmet.
Vulture’s Knob is located at 4300 Mechanicsburg Rd. Wooster, OH 44619

Rays in the winter. Knob in the summer
Yep, looks like it’s shaping up to be a serious place to ride. I’ll be taking some trips out this spring for sure. Great job on the article Blanton!
We are looking at another nice day for trail building tomorrow (going to be a cold one). Looking to have a completed top to bottom Super-D with a few features done by the time we leave. This trail should have the longest continuous descent in Ohio with about a 3 minute lap time. The Bobcat is having some mechanical issues so all of the slopesyle work will be done by hand for the time being.
Just in time for me to move to Portland!!! I will miss this place a lot forward to coming back this summer and riding here!
As long as we can come out to Portland and ride Blackrock with you it’s all good.
